The Minyip/Murtoa Football & Netball Club are in the process of expressions of interest for females of all ages and abilities to play football in the Wimmera!

The Latest on Burras Female Football:

We are thrilled to announce that Madeleine “Bessie” Huggins has been appointed as our inaugural Senior Women’s Football Coach!

Bessie is no stranger to the Burras family. As the granddaughter of Bocky and Marie Byrne, she has been a proud supporter of the club her entire life. A highly accomplished footballer, Bessie recently captained the Horsham Demons to a premiership victory in the Western Victoria Women’s Football League. She also claimed a premiership with Kybybolite in the Limestone Coast AFL Women’s League.

With her extensive football knowledge and natural leadership skills, Bessie is the perfect fit to coach our new team. Her impact was evident during the ladies’ first training session last week, where she took charge and lead the group. We’re excited to see where Bessie will lead the team in the upcoming season.

Women’s football in the Wimmera is happening this year, and we’re proud to be a part of this historic inaugural season. Let’s get behind Bessie and her team as we embark on this exciting journey! Stay tuned for more player announcements coming soon.
